Nancy L. Adams, 92, of Jackson Township, passed away October 3, 2024.
Nancy was born on February 21, 1932 in Massillon to the late Jesus and Anuncia Gonzalez. She was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 1950 and a resident of Jackson Township since 1952. She was the chairperson of the Alumni Reunion Committee for numerous years to follow. Nancy was the Executive Director of the Stark County Medical Society for 20 years and the Canton Academy of Medicine for 16 years. She was very active in her professional organization, American Association of Medical Society Executives (AAMSE) during her employment years as well as with the Ohio State Medical Association and the American Medical Association. She received the SCMS Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997, the very first non-physician to receive this prestigious award. She made numerous presentations nationally to other Medical Societies regarding programs she had successfully developed locally. Nancy was the recipient of the 7th Annual William K. Wilson Award of the Stark County Health Coalition in 1994. She was a volunteer at the Massillon Community Hospital Auxiliary for many years, serving on the Board and President for one year. Nancy was a member of the Massillon Woman’s Club, since 1979 and a member of the Spanish American Women’s Club since 1950, serving on the board. She was also a member of the Heritage Foundation for many years and very active in her HOA community. Nancy loved and cared for her family and friends. She especially loved her “church buddies” at Christ the Servant Parish. She and her late husband enjoyed traveling to many European, South American, Australia, New Zealand and 48 of USA states. She traveled to Spain numerous times as she loved and was proud of her Spanish heritage.
Nancy is survived by her children Bradley Adams (Joy), Pamela Lahm and Wendy Faust (William); grandchildren Brooke (Mark) Watson, Michael (Jessica) Adams, Alexandra Lahm, Morganne Faust, Colin (Marissa) Faust, Hannah Faust; great-grandchildren Jenna & Reese Watson and Forest & Kieran Adams; special niece Nancy (Norman) Ledgerwood as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur J. Adams; infant son and infant grandson; siblings Carl Gonzalez and Henry Gonzalez.
Per Nancy’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 5PM – 7PM, at the Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon, OH 44646. A Memorial Mass will follow at Christ the Servant Parish, 833 39th St. NW, Canton, OH 44709 on Thursday, October 10, 2024, 11AM with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Massillon Woman’s Club, 210 4th St. NE, Massillon, OH 44646.
